Expo 2025: A Look Back at Transformative Experiences and Forward to New Possibilities

By | 未分類

Expo 2025 is around the corner, and it promises to be a tremendous occasion for international cultural exchange, with people from over 150 countries descending on Osaka for a span of six months. 🌏

One of my company’s wonderful female staff members has a nostalgic connection to the 1970 Osaka Expo. As a young woman, she took a part-time job at the Canadian Pavilion. She was so well-regarded by the Pavilion Director that he invited her to visit Canada, a trip she fondly remembers to this day. 🇨🇦🇯🇵

She’s now over 70, a grandmother, and still speaks with excitement about her youth and the indelible memories formed during that 1970 Expo. The experience influenced her profoundly, encouraging her to learn English, meet her future husband, who worked for Singapore Airlines, and even live abroad. ✈️

Fast forward to 2023, and she’s bringing that international flair to her work as a housekeeper for diplomats at the Osaka Consulate in my company. At 70+, she still comes alive when providing services to international clients.

As we look forward to Expo 2025, I wish for nothing less than a similarly transformative and enriching experience for all those who will participate.

In the spirit of warmth and respect, we would like to address an important aspect of Expo 2025. The construction and operation of pavilions from various countries will involve the hard work of many international staff members, who will require suitable living accommodations. As such, there is a considerable demand for furnished service apartments.

We aim to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the real estate market in Osaka, with a specific focus on furnished housing. We will also delve into how the market is responding to the unique needs of international residents. It’s a fascinating intersection of culture, comfort, and practicality, and we are excited to explore this topic with you.

Please join us as we navigate this dynamic landscape, in anticipation of the truly international gathering that is Expo 2025. We are committed to fostering a sense of community and ensuring that all those who join us from abroad feel welcomed and well-accommodated.

Japanese Hospitality (Omotenashi)

By | 未分類

The Japanese “spirit of hospitality” or “omotenashi” in Japanese, is rooted in the Japanese aesthetic sense of simplicity, attention to detail, and a focus on creating a sense of harmony and comfort for the guest or recipient. These aesthetic values are deeply ingrained in Japanese culture and have influenced a wide range of Japanese art forms, including traditional architecture, gardening, cuisine, and tea ceremony.

In Japanese architecture, for example, the concept of “ma” (negative space) is an important aspect of creating a sense of openness and tranquility in a space. The use of natural materials such as wood, paper, and stone, as well as the incorporation of natural elements such as water and plants, is also common in Japanese architecture and reflects the importance placed on simplicity and the beauty of natural materials.

In Japanese gardening, the focus is on creating a sense of harmony and balance between the natural environment and the man-made elements within it. The use of rocks, sand, and carefully arranged plants and trees is used to create a sense of balance and tranquility, while the careful placement of water features such as ponds and streams adds a sense of movement and life to the space.

In Japanese cuisine, the focus is on the quality and freshness of ingredients, as well as the artful presentation of dishes. Seasonal ingredients are often used, and dishes are often prepared in a way that highlights the natural flavors and textures of the ingredients. The presentation of dishes is also an important aspect of Japanese cuisine, with a focus on creating a visually appealing and balanced meal.

Finally, in the Japanese tea ceremony, every detail of the ceremony is carefully considered to create a sense of harmony and tranquility for the guest. The tea room is designed to create a sense of intimacy and simplicity, while the ceremony itself is performed with a focus on attention to detail and the creation of a sense of peacefulness and calm.

Overall, the Japanese aesthetic sense of simplicity, attention to detail, and a focus on creating a sense of harmony and comfort is reflected in the Japanese “spirit of hospitality” or “omotenashi.” This sense of hospitality is deeply rooted in Japanese culture and has been passed down through generations as an important aspect of Japanese identity and way of life.

Lease Contract Period in Japan

By | 未分類

Many foreign customers do not correctly understand the “contract period” stated in Japanese lease contracts.

For example, if the contract stipulates that the contract period is two years, many foreign customers believe that they cannot cancel their  lease contract for two years.

But this is a big mistake. If a foreign customer interprets Japanese law in this way, the foreign customer will suffer a great loss in Japan.

In conclusion, you can completely ignore the contract period specified in the Japanese lease contract.

If you want to know the detailed legal structure, please ask me and I will explain the structure, history and reasons of Japanese law in detail why you can ignore the lease period in Japan.

Buy Supermarket Life Fresh Groceries on Amazon

By | 未分類

Did you know that you can buy many household items on Amazon, including fresh groceries from Japanese leading supermarket chain “Life”?

Moreover, it is a service that delivers to your home in just 2 hours.

Since it is a raw food product, if you are not available, the delivery person will return the product to Life without delivering it.

Delivery is only one time. Money will be refunded in the absence of the customer.

Because it’s Amazon, you can convert the language from Japanese to English and other languages.

I think this Amazon and Life service is very convenient.

Japanese people eat a food called ozoni on New Year’s Day. In the cold season, the body is warm and it is very delicious.

Then why not try making ozoni once using Life and Amazon’s services?

A few years ago, I went with JAFS (NGO group in Osaka) to Sri Lanka for volunteering.

Japanese company provides wells for drinking water in poor villages in Sri Lanka.

There are many energetic, cheerful and cute children in poor villages.

I felt that they were richer and happier in their daily lives then.

Firework

By | 未分類

Osaka Tenjin Summer Festival is coming soon on July 24, 25 2022.

Unfortunately This year’s fireworks have been canceled due to corona.

However, please come and see this festival, which has been held in Osaka every year for 1000 years.

Fireworks in the world were born in the Edo period in Japan.

During the Edo period, there was no war for 250 years. A very peaceful era lasted a long time in Japan.

In peaceful times, women are more active than men. In other words, in the Edo period, Japanese women were stronger than men.

Women hate war.

Women like beautiful things.

That’s why Japanese women came up with the idea of fireworks during the Edo period in Japan.
